PSYCHIATRY

    While psychiatry played such a large role in the development of Aum, and how Aum was to grow and practice its control over its more dissident members, new members, and possibly even its executives, the subject itself, psychiatry needs to be looked at. Where did it come from, and what is its history?

    The next questions that need answering are why was psychiatry found being used in a religion and could psychiatry have some hidden agenda to influence, infiltrate or control the religious world? The answers to these questions are likely to be yes. As psychiatry is a scientific failure with no real solutions, it would not be surprising it looks to religion for answers. While looking at religion some psychiatrists may have differing views. Some may see religion as a rival. Others may see it as something that needs to be stamped out. There are some psychiatrists who may even claim that religion and psychiatry have a lot in common. But the fact is that people do flock to religious worship and temples, and they do run away from psychiatric hospitals in fright.
