ACADEMIC FRAUD
ALERT
The arena of research into new
religions has been checkered with unscientific studies and conclusions of
self-styled "experts".
Such have long been debunked in
the academic and scientific community. (see
http://www.cesnur.org/testi/melton.htm)
However, their pseudo-scientific
theories fueled criminal
"deprogramming" activities (now euphemistically known as "exit counseling or
thought reform consultancy") by incorrectly concluding that "brainwashing" and
"mind control" could be accomplished in the absence of severe physical pain,
drugs or hypnosis.
Though long discarded and even
censured by real experts, these theories have provided a false sense of
.authority. for groups and individuals involved in religious hate and bigotry.
They have repeatedly instilled unwarranted fear and misled scores of parents
into taking or supporting abusive and unlawful assaults on adult
children.
Victims of such academic fraud
have also sometimes experienced financial harm, discrimination in the workplace
and other forms of bigotry.
This website is dedicated to
providing the truth about such fraudulent "experts". A few are listed under the section .Into
Infamy.. More will be
added.
If you have been harmed by
academic fraud, we encourage you to tell us your
experiences.
We, and our many qualified
expert referrals, stand ready to help you and your family if
needed.
